Lasers in nuclear decommissioning (TWI event)

High power, solid state lasers plus optical fibre delivery of the laser
energy offers robust, easily deployed processes suitable for remote
use in nuclear decommissioning environments.
Results will be presented from a recent NDA funded project to
demonstrate the capabilities of lasers for surface removal of
contaminated concrete and cutting of pipe and metalwork.
Site Licence Companies and supply chain firms will hear detailed
results of the work, view live technology demonstrations and
discuss how they could deploy lasers in decommissioning projects.
